My Story

Howdy, I’m Josh Grab (like the verb),

I’m a visual designer, photographer and all-around creative problem solver who believes good design should do something—not just sit there looking pretty.

Right now, I’m at Brown University, crafting brand systems, campaign visuals and accessible design that actually moves people. Before that, I was shaping signage for stadiums and storefronts, then jumped into the pet industry to lead photo, video and content strategy for 50+ brands at Pet Food Experts. (Yes, there were a lot of cute dogs involved.)

What I Do

Freelance? Always.

I’ve:

  • Built visual identities
  • Photographed weddings
  • Filmed art gallery videos
  • Designed brochures for Ivy League cyclists

I love projects that blend strategy with story—the kind where I get to roll up my sleeves, dig into a brand’s DNA and make something that actually resonates instead of just filling space.

How I Think

My design lens is accessibility-first, with a strong side of curiosity about how AI is transforming the creative process. I’m hands-on, detail-obsessed and always thinking about the human on the other side of the screen (or print piece).

If it needs a bold idea, a cleaner layout or just a little more soul—I’m in.

Let’s Make Something That Matters

If you’ve got a problem to solve, a story to tell or a system that needs untangling, we’ll probably get along just fine.
